      Zhu and a distinguished group of pediatric endocrinologists representing multiple academic institutions and relative seniority undertook a national survey of pediatric endocrine providers to explore practice variation in the management of girls and boys with delayed pubertal maturation (

      ). They engaged the Pediatric Endocrine Society membership to survey how individual members approached this common clinical problem of the evaluation, but mostly sex steroid hormone therapy, of those referred to a pediatric endocrinologist for delayed pubertal maturation.
